I would like to share a personal goal and see if some of you might be willing to help me reach it. I recently published a book entitled Living With a Broken Heart: Rediscovering Life after Loss, chronicling my family’s journey through grief after the death of our precious daughter Ashley.
In the book, I offer hope to fellow grievers, and practical advice to those wanting to help someone who is grieving.
The book has been well-received over the past few months. To those who have already purchased copies of the book for yourself and/or someone you love who is grieving … thank you! My primary goal from the start has been for this book to help people who are hurting. I cherish every story I am hearing of how the book is doing just that.
My publisher, Tate Publishing, challenged me with a goal from the start: sell 1,000 copies of the book through distribution (Amazon, bookstores, etc.). So far, most of my sales have been in person or through my website, neither of which counts as “distribution.” So now I have set my sights on achieving this goal of 1,000 copies sold through distribution.
Ashley’s birthday is Sunday, April 27. If she were still here, she would be turning 27 this year. I think it would be a fitting tribute to her if I were able to meet my publisher’s challenge and sell 1,000 copies of the book during the week of her birthday. Doing so in such a short time frame would also give me a shot at reaching “Amazon bestseller” status.
I am not asking anyone to buy extra copies of the book just to artificially pad my numbers. I would prefer to reach the goal through organic sales. So here is what I am asking:
Thank you! God bless you!
