An Open Letter to You

“An Open Letter to You from the Rest of the World”, by Josh Irby

You have something to offer the world that no one else can. And your contribution is needed, desperately! This is the message of Josh Irby’s new eBook/Infographic.

Book: An Open Letter to You from the Rest of the World
Author: Josh Irby

Disclosure: I have no material connection to Josh Irby or his eBook/infographic An Open Letter to You from the Rest of the World. I received a free copy of the book to review, just like anyone else who signs up on his blog to receive e-mail updates. I have received no monetary compensation for writing this review.

An Open Letter to YouI love the message of Josh’s new eBook.

  • You have a story to tell, and it needs to be told.
  • You can make a difference in this world in ways that no one else can.
  • You have a contribution to make, and the world desperately needs your contribution.
  • You have a destiny to fulfill, and if you go through life and never fulfill your destiny, you will have cheated the world – us – out of something magnificent and worthwhile.

And you know what? Josh is right!

In the 2011 movie “The Help”, nanny Aibileen Clark repeatedly tells little May Mobley Leefolt, “You is kind. You is smart. You is important.”

Too often, the messages we hear whispered in our ear from the world around us are much harsher.

  • You’re stupid.
  • You’re worthless.
  • You’re a loser.
  • You’ll never amount to anything.

DON’T BELIEVE IT!

Listen to Josh’s message instead.

  • The world needs to hear your story.
  • The world needs to be moved by your song.
  • The world needs you to chase your dream.
  • You are valuable.

Or listen to Aibileen’s message.

  • You is kind.
  • You is smart.
  • You is important.

Or listen to God’s message.

  • “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:27, ESV)
  • “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” (Psalm 139:14, ESV)
  • “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11, ESV)
  • “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son.” (John 3:16, ESV)
So, here’s what we (the rest of the world) need you to do:
  1. Get Josh’s book!
  2. Read it.
  3. Figure out what your special gift to the world is.
  4. Give it!

Deal?

Alright, let’s go do this!

    • I agree, Dea! Josh’s message is very clear, and very encouraging. I love the way he challenges each of us to take our place on the stage of life and play the part that is ours to play. It is empowering to be reminded that I have something to offer. Thanks for commenting!
